The promising economic conditions of the South drew Sullivan back to the Asheville area where he immediately began to develop his own business plans while working for a local builder.  He began his own construction company in September, 1995.  What started out as a remodeling and subcontractor partnership with numerous small projects, slowly evolved into the award winning company – Living Stone Construction, Inc..  While earning his Unlimited Building License and Accredited Master Builder certification, he became the President of the Asheville Home Builders Association in 2008.  During his term as president, he oversaw 30% growth of the association.  He served as an AHBA Board member for five years, Membership Chairman, Public Relations Chairman, State Director, and National Director.  Sullivan has won the AHBA Parade of Homes, been featured on the cover three times, and been elected “Builder of the Year” twice by his peers.

After serving at the Asheville HBA, Sullivan was offered the job of Regional Vice President at the NCHBA. The NCHBA is the largest state association in the NAHB federation, directly influencing policy and code. There, he has served as NC Build-PAC Trustee and Chairman, North Carolina Building Institute (NCBI) director, and is currently the President of the North Carolina Home Builders Association. He concurrently serves on the BOD at Builders Mutual Insurance Company. Living Stone has received recognition at the NCHBA Stars Awards by winning for 7 years in a row. On the national level, Sullivan is one of only a few licensed builders in the country to hold NAHB designations of Certified Lead Renovator, Certified Green Professional, Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist. Living Stone won its first BALA award in 2013, and Sullivan serves on both the Design and Custom Home Builders Committees, and is a lifetime Spike.

All of the homes built by Living Stone are not only one-of-a-kind, but are also “Energy Star” rated.  The U.S. Commerce Association awarded LSC the Best of Black Mountain Award in the Custom Home Builders category for 2011. Living Stone Construction’s mission is to “Take our clients dreams beyond their expectations. We understand that every client has a different budget, and no matter what that price point is, we will work with you to make your dreams become a reality!  Our long term Vision is to be Mission motivated and Value driven.

Sean currently lives in Black Mountain with his wife Laura, and their three sons, Patrick, Conor and Cole. They enjoy living in the mountains, spending time with family, and traveling for business and leisure.
